Change is possible, even when a pattern feels hard to break.
Non-judgemental support for compulsive behaviours, substance use and the urges that keep pulling you back.
Some patterns start as a way to get through a hard moment. Over time, the relief gets shorter and the cost gets bigger. You may find yourself repeating a behaviour you have promised to stop, hiding how much time it takes, or feeling caught between wanting change and fearing what happens without it.
Compulsions can look different from person to person. For some, they involve checking, rituals or repeated attempts to feel certain. For others, the concern is a substance or behaviour that has become difficult to control. The right approach depends on what is happening, so we start by listening rather than assuming.
Finding a way forward
We can explore:
- What triggers the urge
- What the behaviour does for you in the short term
- What you would like life to look like beyond it
Therapy may involve CBT-based strategies, working with difficult emotions and building other ways to respond when an urge shows up.
Some concerns need specialist, medical or multidisciplinary care, particularly where withdrawal or significant risk is involved. We will discuss the best fit and, when appropriate, help you consider additional support.
